another disaster and The RC Brynmawr are ready to assist

An exerpt from the International RIBI newsletter

Sri Lanka – Another major disaster has struck yet again.

Vice President Shamil Peiris of the Rotary Club of Kandy reports, “The torrential rains and strong winds lashing the country in the past few days have displaced over 830,000 people in the East. The flood victims urgently need drinking water, clothing, mats and milk food for the children and emergency drugs. Later on they would need support to construct damaged housing.”

Lifestraws have stocks of Family and Personal models ready however they need funds to transport them and replenish stocks. ShelterBox is currently exploring all options at getting aid into the country and the other box charities are responding and will need our support. Water Survival Box have offered 200 boxes to the United Nations Development Programme management team in Sri Lanka and if they take up the offer stock levels will be virtually used up until further supplies are received.

• Aquafilters £250

• Water Survival Box £150

• LifeBox £250 – Life Straws donations

• Trade Aid Boxes £399

• ShelterBox £590
